As a lover of the sea and the beach, I feel grateful for the opportunity to work for several years on the island that is beautifully enchanting. Palau. If you ever watch the TV series Survivor, will know where Palau is located. It’s not known for Palau compared to other island nations like the Maldives, Tahiti or Fiji. But, Palau remains a tourist destination is very beautiful and worth a visit. Most tourist who visited Palau are divers because this place is the Paradise for Diving Freaks!
Located 800 kilometers east of the Philippines, Palau is known as one of the most beautiful islands in the archipelago, including Micronesia. Brief history of Palau that you need to learn is the care of Palau is a country of Japan. In 1914 Japan bought Palau from Germany and the master of this country until World War II. In 1944 the United States won Palau from Japan and make this country as one of the United States representative in the Pacific Ocean. Thus, the currency used in Palau today is the U.S. dollar and the governance structure that is used is also similar to the United States. In 1994 the United States favor the independence of Palau in full and officially became the Republic of Palau.
Palau residents numbered only around 20.000 people. 7.000 among the Filipino people who speculate on the island. The rest of Americans and Japanese who were scattered everywhere to meet this small country. Palau ancestors believed to come from Indonesia. So, when I’m there a lot of privileges because many local residents who consider me like a son!
ROCK ISLANDS
Not until one month stay there, I’ve got an offer from a friend named Shipper to visit the Rock Islands. I am happy not to play because of this rare opportunity! Had also wondered what the real appeal of Rock Island for all tourists who come to Palau always wanted to visit this place. On the appointed day we started the trip by speed boat Shipper’s favorite. As the name implies, Rock Island has a lot of rock huge resemble the shape of small islands scattered in the Pacific Ocean. On top of these rocks are usually plants, so that the distance of these islands even look like a mushroom.
Hoping ISLANDS
Rock Islands, beaches filled with beautiful beaches. Visiting the beach to relax into raptures with a rest and enjoy lunch was very enjoyable activity. Especially if you’ve been on the hammock, accompanied by a gentle breeze, guaranteed you can sleep soundly! In addition to rest, many tourist who took their time to snorkel and fish feed, aquarium fish around the coast. There are several beaches in the Rock Islands, which became the main tourist attractions such as Ngermeaus Palau Island, Fantasy Island, Ulong Island and Ngemelis Island. The beaches are so beautiful with the blue waters, soft white sand, palm trees waving and very fresh air. Typically, these beaches often visited to unwind rest, but not a bit too tourist and local residents spent the weekend with camping on the beach.
Snorkeling
The main attraction is Rock Islands are not islands, but the underwater scenery is fantastic. Initially, before becoming a certified diver, I spent much time for snorkeling in the Rock Islands. First snorkeling spot that I visited called Soft Coral. As the name implies, lots of soft coral with a variety of colors in this place. You need to dive to enjoy the natural beauty of the underwater world, because the snorkeling course you can enjoy the beautiful variety of coral reefs and ornamental fish are a colorful variety of sea water because Palau is very clean and clear. If you are lucky again, with snorkeling course you can even see the shark from a distance or sea turtles!
DIVING
Most Wanted Diving Spot in Palau called Blue Corner. If the weather was sunny, the day may count more than 100 divers dive in this place. You must be wondering why the Blue Corner so famous. The answer is that if you dive in this place, your guts will be tested because you will dive in a very fast flow plus a look at a set amount of sharks milling about 10-20 fruit in front of your eyes. Make no mistake, these sharks are used to the presence of the divers, so they will not attack you. In rare you can get the experience diving with sharks is friendly.
The satisfaction of seeing sharks and want to see other types of fish, you can dive in Germany Channel. That said, this channel made by the Germans to make it easier not to trip speedboat caught by a large coral reef as big as your house! You can find at the time of diving in Germany Channel is the Manta Ray and Spotted Eagle Ray who always swim with grace. In addition there are many who love Sting Ray camouflaged in the sand. Not only Blue Corner and Germany Channel, the other diving spots that must be visited is the Blue Hole, Siaes Tunnel, Turtle Cove and New Drop-Off.
Unbelievable Jellyfish Lake
Jellyfish lake is one of the other attractions of Palau. The statute is mandatory for you to visit this lake, although located slightly isolated of Rock Islands. As an initial challenge, you have to climb the steep rocks about 10 minutes before you can pamper yourself swimming, snorkeling or diving in this lake. But everything worth doing too! The uniqueness of Jellyfish Lake is that there are millions of jellyfish (jellyfish) that do not have the sting of living in this lake.
Whity Milky Way
Location of the Milky Way is somewhat hidden in the Rock Islands are a little mysterious, but once I’m there, you will find its own preoccupations to treat your skin smooth even for a moment in a natural SPA treatments. Milky Way is so called because the sea water in this area has a light blue color with a white mixture of milk, because the seabed there is not more than 20 feet, the mud contains natural sulfur milky white. Usually, the tour guide would dive to retrieve sulfur mud for you and your task is only wiped the mud throughout the body and wait until dry.
