New York city, for me  its has own magnet. The long history of the early occupation of the Indian tribes in the valley of the Hudson River, the flow of immigrant from all over the world, Ireland, Italy, Germany. Then the imperialists occupied the Netherlands, followed by England until 1776 to free themselves without the assistance of France. New York is also a symbol modernity, the capital of capitalism in this world. City that experienced the tragedy of financial and human tragedy, which left a deep scratch wounds in the historical record.

Maybe movies like ‘Gang of New York’ or ‘Sex and the City’ is the inspiration for exploring the Big Apple. But for me it comes from the character of Batman. Gotham City is a direct reflection of the glory era of art deco and art neuveu. But it also describes the crime, dirtiness, corruption, and urban decay.

But that reputation that makes more wanted there. Was not a big city always has two faces? Beautiful and dull. Pomp and adversity. My preparation was not much. Among them only read a few books, one of the interesting book ‘James Dean Died Here’, a book catalog of the landmark pop culture in America. Lonely Planet also book New York City. I was particularly select Rough Guide pocket book version. LP New York turned out this was the most recent issue (September 2008). I need this book primarily about the maps and transportation as well as the latest developments. LP book is a handy little map, unfortunately there are pocket guns. So had to make his own.

I read the other information from the NY Times newspaper Online and print versions. There is an interesting edition of the article Frugal New York Matt Gross written about strategies to enjoy the cheap NY. Fair provides interesting info. Also a local magazine NY Magazine. At least I have to understand how to move through the city and planning agenda. I download subway maps from the MTA (Metropolitan Transport Authority) State of New York. The important thing is how to get the city to JFK (and vice versa), also system cost.

Costumes are also found to my account. December in the U.S. East Coast minus temperatures can drop quickly. Therefore I take extra fleece and waterproof jacket (which proved very useful because I don’t like bring an umbrella). To check the weather in NY, please be listened to on the Weather Channel. Quite accurately predict the temperature and weather scale count per month. Please note the make America a conversion Fahrenheit to Celsius first to feel how warm / cold.

I decided to buy NY City Pass, which is visited 6 places at a price of U.S. $ 74. Perceived benefits of this decision at the time really busy. Yups with City Pass our guns have to queue to enter tempat2 because we’ve been holding a ticket in hand. I live print out a voucher to exchange for a bundle of tickets in one place in the list.

Although only four days, I feel ready. I am also determined to not be too ambitious to tempt all places. My consideration is dependent on the weather, time and stamina. When winter, the sun was sinking at 4 pm, so limited time to walk everywhere. My goal is to beat NY Frugal Traveler Matt Ross who spent $ 539.07 for the weekend only. I want to prove less expensive than New York is expected. If given the chance, I could go back.
